Position Summary Information

Position Summary

Provide office support assistance for the Office of Multicultural Affairs, which includes the LGBTQA+ Resource Center and the Women’s Center, as well as assist with special events, sponsored by the office. Should demonstrate sensitivity to unique social, cultural and economic circumstances of students served by the office. Serves as a liaison between the Office of Multicultural Affairs and student clubs/organizations for whom the professional staff serves as advisor (PRIDE, MSA, etc.), other campus offices, and the general public; assisting them as warranted.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Assist the office with the planning and coordination of events and meetings, including those sponsored by student clubs/organizations aligned with the office.
  • Create posters for print and screen.
  • Update Multicultural Affairs digital presence (Facebook and/or other social media venues).
  • Maintain Office Calendar of Events.
  • Serve as an ambassador to the Office of Multicultural Affairs.
  • Demonstrate a firm knowledge of the philosophy and mission of the Office of Multicultural Affairs.
  • General office duties, including but not limited to, answering phones, filing, typing, errands, and customer service.
  • Responsible for ensuring that assigned tasks are completed in compliance with various institutional and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain a professional and courteous attitude at all times towards co-workers, internal and external customers, representing Keuka College, its programs, policies and procedures in a positive and professional manner. Maintain effective working relationships to ensure institution-wide teamwork.
  • Attend provided/necessary trainings and other meetings to support effectiveness within the position as required.
  • Consistently demonstrate high standards of integrity by supporting the Keuka College mission, vision and values and adhering to institutional policies.
  • Maintain high regard for student privacy in accordance with the FERPA privacy policies and procedures.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is expected and required.
  • Perform other functions as assigned by management.
Minimum Qualifications
  1. Eligible for Federal work-study award or a Keuka work-study award.
  2. A Keuka College student in the traditional undergraduate on-campus program.
  3. Creativity, self-motivated and highly organized strongly recommended.
  4. Should demonstrate the ability to work independently.
  5. Organizational/clerical skills preferred.
  6. Must be detailed oriented.
  7. Basic office skills and/or experience preferred.
  8. Knowledge of computers and programs such as Microsoft Office preferred.
  9. Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
  10. Understand and behave with a high level of integrity and complete confidentiality at all times.
  11. Ability to be sensitive to and respond to needs/concerns of students, faculty, college staff and the public.
  12. Ability to work under pressure with a high tolerance for interruptions, and the ability to work with diverse groups of people.
Physical Requirements
  • Occasional lifting up to 25 lbs.
  • Occasional evening and weekend hours required.
