Position Summary Information

Position Summary

Responsible to President’s office/staff in day-to-day operations, as well as special functions/projects throughout the academic year. The student employee may be provided an opportunity to develop the following competencies: communications, organization, process improvement, systems/analytical thinking, and customer focus.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Assist with routine tasks in a timely and efficient manner, i.e., receptionist/clerical duties, word processing, incoming and outgoing mail, copying, filing, office and kitchen supply organization and storage.
  • May be asked to assist with special event preparation and execution.
  • Maintain office functions when office staff is not available.
  • Responsible for ensuring that assigned tasks are completed in compliance with various institutional and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain a professional and courteous attitude at all times, towards co-workers, and internal and external customers; and while representing Keuka College, its programs, policies and procedures in a positive and professional manner. Maintain effective working relationships to ensure institution-wide teamwork.
  • Attend provided/necessary trainings and other meetings to support effectiveness within the position as required.
  • Consistently demonstrate high standards of integrity by supporting the Keuka College mission, vision and values and adhering to institutional policies.
  • Maintain high regard for student privacy in accordance with the FERPA privacy policies and procedures.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is expected and required.
  • Perform other functions as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  1. Eligible for a Keuka Work-Study Award or Federal Work-Study Award.
  2. A Keuka College student in the on-campus traditional undergraduate program.
  3. Keyboarding skills, basic computer knowledge, telephone answering and greeting skills.
  4. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  5. Understand and behave with a high level of integrity and complete confidentiality at all times.
  6. Ability to be sensitive to and respond to needs/concerns of students, faculty, College staff and the public.
  7. Ability to work under pressure with a high tolerance for interruptions, and the ability to work with diverse groups of people.
Physical Requirements
  • Occasional evening and weekend hours required.
